Damian Lillard on facing Russell Westbrook in 2019 playoffs: “That was probably the most trash talk I’ve ever done in my life”

Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard remembered the 2019 NBA Playoffs when his team faced Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The two players had leading roles on their teams.

It was Portland that prevailed in the first round series, 4-1. There was a lot of tension between the players on both sides, including the superstars. According to Lillard, he and Westbrook were trash talking each other the whole time.

Via Tim MacMahon of EPSN:

“That was probably the most trash talk I’ve ever done in my life, like in the game, where we all was just kind of talking s— to each other,” Lillard said. “Everybody on both teams. People was getting separated. People were saying stuff after the game in the media, stuff like that.”
