BBL Championship

(Giants – Lewis 20, Armstrong 18, Saunders 14; Lions – Williams 11, Martin 10, Kelley 9)

Manchester Giants put in a dominant performance on Thursday night as they blew out London Lions to strengthen their claim for second place in the BBL Championship.

It was a nightmare performance for the Lions as they prepare for Sunday’s BBL Trophy Final against Cheshire Phoenix, as they were put to the sword by a rampant Giants side.

A tight first quarter was followed by an incredible showing from the Giants, as they outscored London 29-10 to finish the half. Manchester’s first half performance culminated in a 10-0 run led by Tyrik Armstrong, who impressed again as he continues his stellar season.

The Giants started the second half in equally dominant fashion, as they again held the Lions to only 10 points in the third quarter as they built a commanding lead. London’s struggles from the field continued throughout the ballgame, as they finished only 3-20 from three-point range.

Francois Lewis led the Giants with 20 points, whilst Armstrong finished the game with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
