Bristol Flyers confirmed their place in the BBL Playoffs as they edged out Newcastle Eagles 84-81 in a nail-biting encounter.
It was Flyers that got off to the better start in the opening exchanges as the home side took a narrow 29- 26 lead into the second quarter.
Eagles responded well in the second. They scored 23 points and limited Flyers to 15 to open up a lead of their own. The away side led 49-44 at the half-time break.
The game continued to be a close-fought encounter in the second half. Bristol Flyers edged the third quarter 21-18 to reduce Eagles lead to two and set up a nail-biting finale.
Flyers confirmed their play-off spot and fourth win in seven days in a solid defensive display in the fourth. The home side had Zach Simmons to thank after his clutch defensive play at the death cemented the win. Flyers held firm to win 84-81.
Marcus Evans finished with an impressive double-double performance of 19 points and 10 rebounds whilst Justin Gordon finished with a game-high 25 points for Eagles.
