Isaiah Thomas Returns to the Lakers After Dominant G League Stint

According to reports from NBA insider Shams Charania, Isaiah Thomas has signed a 10-Day contract with the Los Angeles Laker, making his return to the League for the first time since playing three games with the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Lakers decided to sign IT after the former All-Star scored 42 points in his G League debut with the Grand Rapid Golds. The franchise is missing multiple players due to health and safety protocols (Russell Westbrook, Dwight Howard, Talen Horton-Tucker, Avery Bradley, and Malik Monk). Because the Lakers are shorthanded with those absences, the League granted them a hardship exemption which they used to sign Thomas.

But Thomas came into his own with the Boston Celtics, where he averaged 28.9 points per game and turned in two All-Star campaigns before a hip injury reversed his fortune. Since then, he’s played for the Cavaliers, Lakers, Nuggets, Wizards, the Pelicans, and the Lakers again.
