Lakers Announce LeBron James Is Day-to-Day With A Sore Left Knee

According to Shams Charania from The Athletic, LeBron James is currently listed as day to day by the Lakers due to a left knee injury. The injury forced the King had to sit out of Thursday’s matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The primetime matchup was Anthony Davis’ second game back after sitting out for over a month due to an MCL sprain. The last time James played was in a 106-96 win over Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night, finishing with 33 points, seven rebounds, and six assists to go along with three steals and two blocks.

This season, the Chosen One has played a heavy workload, averaging 29.1 points, 7.7 boards, and 6.3 dimes on 52.2 percent shooting from the field and 35.2 percent shooting from downtown. Thus far, James has played 36.6 minutes per game on a 30.6 usage rate. On top of that, James has suffered multiple injuries during his Lakers tenure, most notably a groin injury that cost him 17 consecutive games and the Lakers a spot in the 2019 playoffs.

As of publication, the Lakers haven’t announced whether or not James will play against the Hornets on Friday. The last time the Lakers forward missed a game was November 30 against the Sacramento Kings. He has missed 13 games this season.
