Ricky Rubio confirms he is out for 2022 FIBA EuroBasket

Spanish star guard Ricky Rubio confirmed he will not play for Spain in the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket in September.

Rubio underwent surgery in his left knee (ACL) and will miss the remainder of the season. The veteran guard will make a full recovery and will not play in the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket.

“I can already say that I will not participate in the EuroBasket this summer. I’ll get involved in another way. But, I will definitely come back to the national team,” Ricky Rubio told La Vanguardia.

That is a major upset for the national team of Spain, which is among the top favorites to win the tournament. The star guard will miss 10 to 12 months of action, therefore he will miss the start of the 2022/23 NBA season.
