Sharks add Sa’eed Nelson to the roster

B. Braun Sheffield Sharks today announced the signing of Sa’eed Nelson for the upcoming 2022-23 BBL season.

The 6’2″,  24-year-old point guard is a product of the American University and has played for MLP Academics Heidelberg most recently for Rasta Vechta both in Germany – Pro A.

“The Sharks and the BBL seems like a place where my game will translate well,” said Nelson. “I like to get up and down in transition, find my teammates and play at a high tempo.

“I feel like myself and Coach Lyons are on the same page and I’m looking forward to getting out there with my teammates and winning some games.”

Originally from Pleasantville, New Jersey in the United States, Sa’eed averaged 6.7 points, 2.8 rebounds 2.6 assists during his stay in Germany last season.

“Sa’eed is an athletic, aggressive guard that can finish at the rim and play lockdown defence,” added Head Coach Atiba Lyons. “He has the ability to really push the ball and create for teammates in the open court.

“I think his height and athleticism will really help us at the point guard position.”

Sa’eed Nelson joins newly appointed captain Rodney Glasgow Jr, Marcus Delpeche, Nate Montgomery, Bennett Koch, Kipper Nichols, Jordan Ratinho and newcomers Javion Ogunyemi and Channel Banks for the new campaign.

The Sharks take on the London Lions in the first match of the season Friday, 23rd September in Sheffield at 7:30pm LIVE on Sky Sports.
