NBA DFS picks December 30: My name is Luka

We have a strong six game NBA DFS slate tonight. Milwaukee and Miami meet again in a rematch from last night. The Clippers and Celtics are also in the tail end of back-to-back sets, so watch for resting players. First, let’s check the players that we know are missing tonight’s action.

Out: Kristaps Porzingis (knee), Ja Morant (ankle), Jaren Jackson (knee), Kemba Walker (knee), Derrick White (toe), De’Anthony Melton (coronavirus), Kris Dunn (ankle), Cody Zeller (hand), Alex Caruso (hand), Zach Collins (shoulder), Romeo Langford (wrist), Justise Winslow (knee), Killian Tillie (hamstring), Jontay Porter (knee), Xavier Tillman (knee), Spencer Dinwiddie (knee), Tony Snell (foot), Nic Claxton (knee), Onyeka Okongwu (toe).

Questionable: LeBron James (ankle), Kawhi Leonard (mouth), Jimmy Butler (ankle), Josh Richardson (calf), Marcus Morris (knee), Danilo Gallinari (foot), Gary Trent (calf), Tacko Fall (eye).

LeBron played on Sunday, so he should again be fine. It’s believed that Kawhi will play tonight and his absence last night was mostly maintenance against a depleted Minnesota team. It is also widely believed that Butler will make his return tonight.

It’s reasonable to expect Capela to be on a minutes limit again. He was strong in limited minutes in his 2020 debut, so we can still expect solid numbers from him.

I started doing the trifecta last year where at the request of a reader I tried to predict the top three scorers of the night. I got all three right twice, but they were never in the right order. I’m not one to give up that easily, so I’ll do it again.

Last night I completely whiffed with Giannis, but Jokic and Drummond were both in the top five. That’s not a terrible result. Tonight I’ll go with Luka, Tatum, and Giannis. He gets revenge for last night.
